Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan is stepping up efforts to strengthen the connection between the Arab sector and Israel Police.

Today, Sunday, Erdan is launching an advertising campaign which will see the placement of signs on billboards in Arab towns around Israel, as well as the broadcasting of radio advertisements.

The radio campaign will include head of Arab administration in Israel Police Jamal Hakroush calling on youth to join the ranks of law enforcement personnel, while the billboard campaign will present the slogan “100% personal safety.” The goals of the campaign include opening new police stations in the Arabs sector and drafting Muslims citizens to the Israel Police.

Erdan said regarding the advertising campaign: “The revolution that we are advancing to improve police services in the Arab sector is at its height. There are more Arab policemen, stations are being set up in cities [with Arab populations] and, now, messages and songs in Arabic address youth of the sector and call on them to participate. This is a social revolution that will better connect the Arab citizens of Israel to Israeli society and the state.”

Within the framework of the campaign, Erdan and regional police commanders are to meet this week with Arab local council heads in order to advance ccoperation with the Arab public and assess ways that will help further this goal.
