Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev (Likud) on Sunday morning spoke about the decision to approve 14,000 housing units for Arabs in Area C.

"In today's meeting, we discussed the issue with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu," Regev said. "I think that when we see what we're seeing, that the Palestinians constantly build in Areas A and B, we see it in Shechem, Ramallah, and other areas - there's no reason for them to build in Area C. For sure, there is no reason to approve 14,000 housing units when Jews are not allowed to build at all."

Regarding the rumor that Environmental Protection Minister Zeev Elkin's (Likud) voted to approve the plan, Regev said, "I don't really understand how Elkin, who claimed he was against the idea, voted for it in the end. I don't really understand what happened there, but I do understand that this issue will be discussed again by the Cabinet and then by the entire coalition."

"There's no question that just like we limit Jewish building in Area C, there's no reason to approve 15,000 housing units for Arabs. Especially since they build nonstop and without limits in Areas A and B.

"This morning, the Prime Minister announced that the Cabinet will discuss the Qalqilya plan. Elkin actually did not vote for it, and we should discuss the plan's implications as soon as possible."

Regarding the murder of Hadas Malka on Friday, Regev said, "I know the Malka family from Ashdod. They're a good family, with good values and strong roots."

"Culture and religion in the PA are inciting. We need to uproot the education and culture which lead to murders like this."
