Magen David Adom teams, the Knesset guard, Israeli Police, firefighters and Central Command held today (Tuesday) at the Knesset building a drill simulating the occurrence of an earthquake.

The forces practiced scenarios including the evacuation of groups and rescuing trapped persons, reporting on the scene while administering aid to injured persons, and establishing pickup stations for healthy persons and a station for treating those injured from the collapse of the building.

Likewise, the forces practiced scenarios of rescuing a person trapped at a height on the Knesset building by means of a zipline, ropes and ladders, treating injured persons, and evacuating injured persons by helicopter.

Knesset Officer Yosef Grif told Arutz Sheva that “There are a wealth of threats trying to strike the Knesset, and we are ready for any scenario.”

Knesset Chairman Yuli Edelstein said regarding the drill, “I have now received a briefing from the Knesset Officer. I understand that the drill was executed impeccably. The Knesset is ready for any scenario and I am happy that we are in the professional hands of the Knesset guard and security and medical forces.”
