Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee Chairman Nissan Slomiansky (Jewish Home) will return this week to conduct the meetings of the committee.

Slomiansky suspended himself from running the committee after allegations of sexual harassment against him were posted on the internet. No specific person came forward to press charges and no evidence was found to support the accusations, but Israel Police interrogated him last week.

The Knesset's legal adviser, attorney Eyal Yinon, urged Slomiansky to announce whether he was retiring from the chairmanship of the committee or returning to run it. In response, Slomiansky announced his decision to return to his position as committee chair.

Attorney Rachel Toran, who is representing Slomiansky, said, "MK Slomiansky is happy to have the opportunity to put an end to the rumors and the kangaroo court that various internet sources are trying to hold."

Last week, Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) said, "As long as there is no evidence against him, he's completely innocent."
