The head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, Shlomo Ne'eman, announced Thursday evening the intention of the Civil Administration to demolish a synagogue and other illegal structures in the town of Bat Ayin in Gush Etzion.

Members of the town's administration sent an urgent letter to Ministers Yisrael Katz and Uri Ariel, as well as MKs Bezalel Smotrich and Moti Yogev demanding that the demolition be stopped.

"The synagogue is located within the blue line on state land, within the outline plan of Bat Ayin West, which was submitted to the director for approval 15 years ago," the letter stated.

The authors of the letter asked: "Are these quiet agreements reached with Trump's assistants? Are we informed of the continuation of [Ehud] Barak's policy of destruction by a right-wing government? Will the demolition of Jewish homes be carried out along with the approval of Arab construction in Area C? We appeal to you to try to stop this decree immediately."
