Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu published a video in which he responds to criticism made by the opposition leader this evening (Monday) at a ceremony in memory of Binyamin Ze'ev Herzl.
"One thing is unclear: All those who say to us - you have to leave Judea and Samaria to ensure that the State of Israel will remain the nation-state of the Jewish people - they are the most vociferous opponents of the Nationality Basic Law that defines the State of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people! Go figure," Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu discussed the idea of a constitution this evening (Monday) in a speech in memory of Herzl.
"A constitution will establish the status of Israel as a Jewish state, and there is no contradiction between Israel being a democracy and the state of the Jewish people," Netanyahu said.
He also referred to Israel's standing in the world and said that "Israel is a beacon of enlightenment and hope".
