An undercover police agent in Jerusalem brought about the arrest of thirty suspected drug dealers.

All thirty suspects live in Jerusalem, and six of them live in the Arab neighborhoods in the city's east. The court is expected to extend their arrests later on Wednesday.

Over the past few months, the undercover agent in question has been working in southern Jerusalem, and has brought about the arrests of dozens of dangerous drug dealers, who sold hundreds of thousands of shekels worth of MDMA, cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, and hashish.

On Tuesday night, after the undercover agent collected enough proof, the signal was given and dozens of Israel Police officers, Border Police officers, detectives, and Special Patrol Unit officers arrested the suspects and searched their homes.

The suspects are being charged with marketing drugs to local businesses and kiosks. The sales were made during all hours of the day, including in broad daylight, and sometimes minors were used to transfer the money and drugs.

Israel Police noted that the agent focused on neighborhoods in which drug dealings had been identified, and aimed mainly to prevent the involvement of minors in the business.
