Health Ministry supervisors in the central region in conjunction with the Licensing and Veterinary divisions of the Binyamin Regional Council conducted an inspection in the Of Yerushalayim Mehadrin chicken factory located in the Shaar Binyamin industrial area.
The Health Ministry reported that in the course of the inspection, defrosting and unmarked chickens were discovered in poor sanitary conditions.
The ministry stated that treatment of meat including its storage and marketing without the conditions required by law could constitute a public health hazard.
The district veterinary ordered 1680 kg (1.6 tons) of chicken to be destroyed.
