Israel Railways has announced that they will open Tel Aviv's train stations on Sunday morning at 5 a.m.

The train stations in Tel Aviv and Herzliya have been closed since last Monday, because of work on the train's infrastructure, in preparation for the 'fast line' connecting Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

The closure has caused major traffic jams in several areas around the country, since soldiers traveling to and from base were forced to use roads instead of rails. The Egged bus company ran shuttles from one closed station to another, but the traffic jams only got worse.

"Thanks to concentrated effort and hard work, the trains will be running by tomorrow," said an Israel Railways spokesperson. "We have completed crucial portions of the work in the Tel Aviv train stations, allowing us to reopen the stations early tomorrow morning."

Boaz Tzafrir, CEO of Israel Railways, said that, "Israel Railways thanks our passengers for their patience and understanding of this temporary inconvenience."

The work was scheduled to be completed on Tuesday, but Tel Aviv's train stations will be opened earlier than expected, on Sunday morning.
