A 21-year-old youth from Or Akiva was drawn from the water today near Sdot Yam, in an unconscious state.
Medics administered resuscitation efforts to the youth at the scene, but finally had to confirm his death.
"When we arrived to the beach we saw a 21-year-old youth lying on the beach, unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse," medic Stav Bodsky said.
"People at the beach started with basic resuscitation efforts, guided by medics on the telephone. We administered advanced resuscitation techniques - including medical treatment, massages and CPR - for over half an hour, but after we didn't find signs of life, we had no choice but to pronounce the youth's death."
