A 70-year-old woman drowned Monday morning in Haifa's Bat Galim beach.

Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics were called to the shore and after many resuscitation attempts, they were forced to confirm her death.

Shortly after, a 73-year-old man drowned in Akko’s (Acre) Argaman beach. MDA personnel also performed CPR, but had to pronounce his death.

"When we got to the beach we saw lifeguards performing CPR on a man in his 70’s,” said a senior MDA medic who arrived to the shores of Akko.

“He had no pulse and was not breathing, and unfortunately, after lengthy resuscitation attempts using all the means we possessed, we had to confirm his death."
