Over 150 people marched from Gush Etzion junction to Karmei Tzur Sunday morning, in a hike organized in the memory of slain IDF captain Eliyav Gelman. Gelman was killed by friendly fire as he fought to stop an attacking Arab terrorist on February 24.

The Gush Etzion Tourism Association and the Amitim LeTiyulim organization joined forces to organize the march in Gelman's memory. GETA leader Gad Kahane told Arutz Sheva Sunday there is "no better way to tour Israel."

"This is how we begin Chol HaMoed," he said. "There is no better way than to see our beautiful land."

"I invite the entire Jewish people to take this opportunity to tour Gush Etzion's tourist sites with the entire family," he added.

In the February incident, Eliyav approached and twice shot an Arab terrorist who was launching a knife attack at Gush Etzion Junction, heroically neutralizing the terrorist. Tragically, he was hit by an errant bullet from an IDF guard post which was meant for the terrorist.

The terrorist was moderately wounded, having been shot twice by Eliyav and twice by soldiers at the guard post.
