Security forces say that they arrested three Palestinians who crossed the fence bordering Gaza this morning (Saturday), under the cover of heavy fog.

An early investigation found that the three did not intend to perpetrate and attack on Israelis. They told their interrogators that they were escaping the Gaza Strip due to the difficult situation prevailing there.

Earlier this morning, a state of emergency was declared in several communities in the Eshkol region due to reports of the infiltrators.

MK Haim Yellin (Yesh Atid), a resident of Nahal Oz and former head of the Eshkol Regional Council, said: "The Prime Minister and Defense Minister can continue calming the local mayors and residents with their words, but it's time for action. Until a barrier is built the IDF will continue chasing infiltrators and terrorists."
