Woman's body found in forest in north

Police located the body of an unidentified woman near a major intersection, signs of violence found on the body.

Police found the body of an unidentified woman in the forest near a major intersection in northern Israel early Wednesday morning.

The body was found near Hamovil interchange which connects Highway 77 and Highway 79. Nearby the interchange is the Hasolelim Forest Reserve, Tsipori forest, and the communities of Alon Hagalil and Hasolelim.

The police teams that found the body closed off the area and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

Signs of violence were found on the body. The case has been handed over to the Murder Investigations Unit of the Northern Command of the Police. Detectives have begun gathering evidence from the surrounding area.

The body has yet to be identified, but has been sent to the Legal Medical Institute in Abu Kabir. The police have placed a ban on publicizing details of the investigation.
