But rain will begin Saturday morning from the central-northern coastal areas to the Negev, spreading through the center of the country while accompanied by unusually high winds.

Flood warnings are already in place in the Dead Sea area and Judea ahead of the onslaught, and will remain in place from Friday to Sunday night.

Temperatures will drop lower than the average for the season over the weekend; snow is forecast overnight Saturday/Sunday in the Hermon.

The rain is expected to ease somewhat by Monday, with localized showers still forecast for the coastal region; temperatures are expected to rise slightly as the rain lifts.
