Israel's first lady met at the President's official residence in Jerusalem on Wednesday with a group of women representatives for the Jewish Federations of North America (JNFA).

"You are a source of inspiration for me," Nehama Rivlin told the group. "I really appreciate what you do as volunteers, taking from your time and energy to support those in need in Israel."

"I am thrilled to hear about the various projects you are working on."

The women from JNFA excitedly informed the first lady in detail about their many projects for Israel and the US Jewish community.

Rivlin then expressed her desire to raise awareness about children and adults with special needs within the Jewish community and wider population.

"I visit children with special needs and host them," she said. "I have the opportunity to hear them and express my support to them. Time after time, I am inspired by the way they have overcome the obstacles they face."

The JNFA represents a total of 150 Jewish federations and over 300 independent Jewish communities in North America.
