Two women in their 40s were killed Wednesday morning in a traffic accident near Kiryat Gat Interchange on Highway 6. The driver, a man aged about 30, suffered moderate wounds. He was evacuated with a helicopter to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva.

Northbound traffic on Highway 6 was blocked.

Lior Duchan, a senior medic in Megen David Adom, said that "next to the car, on the highway, two women aged about 40 laid unconscious, with no pulse, not breathing. We tried to give them medical care and resuscitate them but the injuries were very severe and we could do nothing but determine their death."

Meanwhile, Kibbutz Rosh Tzurim in the Gush Etzion region of Judea is in mourning over the death of the couple Gila (Rosenblot) and Moshe David Marciano who were killed in a crash at the entrance to Elazar Tuesday.

"Gila and Moshe who were married a number of years ago opened their home to the entire community and added a special spirit of kindness and holiness to all residents," read a statement from the community.

The funeral of the two will take place on Wednesday at 1 p.m., leaving from the kibbutz's dining hall to the Kfar Etzion cemetery.
