President Reuven Rivlin decorated his Sukkah on Thursday, with the help of some friends - several dozen Jerusalem children who created decorations for the thatched-roof booth that will be used to celebrate the holiday of Sukkot, which begins Sunday night.

And everyone's invited.

Speaking Thursday, Rivlin said that his Sukkah would be an “open” one. “The President's house is a home for the entire nation, and thus we had the privilege today of decorating not the President's Sukkah, but the Sukkah of the entire Jewish people.”

Rivlin thanked his helpers, and invited them back to visit during the holiday.

Among the children were several who helped out last year, Rivlin noticed, and thanked them for returning. “I hope that all our visitors will grow as finely as you did,” he told the children.

After the decorations, Rivlin issued an official invitation to “the entire House of Israel to come and celebrate Sukkot in the President's Household. You are all my special Sukkot visitors.”

The Sukkah will be open during the intermediate days of the Festival (Tuesday through Friday) between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM.
