Prosecutors filed an indictment on Thursday morning with the Jerusalem District Court against a 19-year-old resident of the capital's Issawiya neighborhood.

The detainee is charged with rioting, aggravated sabotage, reckless endangerment on the road, arson, attempted aggravated assault of a police officer and other offenses.

According to the indictment, the 19-year-old Arab youth participated, between 2012 and 2014, in eight riots in Issawiya, during which he produced firebombs and threw them at security forces.

He is also accused of joining a group of youths throwing firebombs at Jewish vehicles on a hill near the Jerusalem-Ma'ale Adumim road in the summer of 2013.

Additional charges were filed on Thursday with the Juvenile Magistrates Court in Jerusalem against three Arab youths aged 13-15 who live in the Old City near the Temple Mount.

The three are charged of aggravated assault, interfering with police and other offenses.

One of the boys is accused of throwing a glass bottle at police officers patrolling the entrance to the Temple Mount a month ago.

Also according to the indictment, on two other occasions, in August and September 2015, the three threw rocks at police officers at the entrance to the Temple Mount.

The charges come as Israel grapples with renewed Arab violence across Jerusalem, which marred Rosh Hashanah celebrations at the start of the week and resulted in the murder of an Israeli motorist.
