Border Police officers on Wednesday night arrested two suspected terrorists at the Tapuah junction in Samaria.

The officers, who were stationed at a security checkpoint, noticed a Palestinian Arab car which aroused their suspicions.

They stopped the vehicle and searched it, discovering a Carl Gustav type rifle under the chair of the front passenger.

The fighters arrested the occupants of the vehicle, two residents of Tulkarm in their 20s. They were taken in for questioning by security forces.

The arrest comes hours after terrorists opened fire Wednesday morning on an Israeli vehicle that traveled in the same area.

Two nurses were traveling in the car, which was headed toward Maaynei Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak. The driver, a resident of Yitzhar, kept on driving after the shots were fired, until she reached the Tapuah Junction, where an ambulance awaited her.

The IDF said that at least one bullet struck the car.

Arab terrorists fired ten days ago at an Israeli vehicle traveling past the Jit intersection, near Kedumim, in Samaria.

The driver, 46, was slightly wounded by shrapnel in his hand, but managed to continue driving to a nearby IDF base, where he was treated by the Ephraim Brigades's medics.

He was later brought by a Magen David Adom ambulance to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, in light condition.

The terrorists, driving a white Fiat Punto with Israeli license plates, fled after the shooting, in the direction of the Gilead junction. IDF forces are conducting searches in the area.
