'Color Red' rocket alert sirens sounded in communities throughout southern Israel's Sha'ar Henegev region Tuesday, along the border with Gaza.

The Home Front Command said that no rocket was identified as striking the ground and no explosions were heard. The sirens are therefore being classified as a false alarm.

The sirens were reported to have sounded in the communities of Or Haner and Erez.

Sirens sounded in communities across the lower and upper Galilee in northern Israeli at 16:38 Sunday afternoon.

According to the IDF, those sirens were the result of a technical malfunction, not a genuine rocket attack.

Although Israel's northern borders have largely been quiet despite the unrest in Syria, several instances of "spillover" from the conflict have resulted in mortar shells and other projectiles being fired into Israel.
