The father of Benaya Shukrun, the 5 year-old boy who was killed by a bus in Beit El on Monday, spoke to Arutz Sheva on Tuesday on his family's ordeal.

"G-d gave us a son on Sunday, a new baby, and took away Benaya on Monday," Maoz Shukrun stated.

He thanked G-d for the five years the family had with Benaya, and noted that "tragedies like this, you can only get through with faith."

He stressed that there is nothing in the world without the supervision of the Creator, as he put it, in detail. '

'He knows to lead the world better than us and gives us strength," Maoz said.

Maoz asked the public not to brood over the issue.

"Do not ask questions about God," he said. "We'll find strength together and move on."

"We have faith, and hope Benaya will be the last victim of Israel, and pray for all the people of Israel, bringing redemption."

Police are, meanwhile, still investigating the cause of Monday’s accident. An initial investigation found that the boy, who was riding a scooter, veered onto the street and the bus driver did not notice him.

Magen David Adom paramedic Uri Tzahi described the scene: "When we arrived, we saw a bus at the center of the road and on the road lay a boy of about 5. Next to him was a dismantled scooter."

"The child was unconscious with no pulse, he wasn't breathing, and was suffering from trauma. In only a short amount of time, we had to confirm his death, with the help of an IDF medical examiner who arrived on the scene."
