In a letter to U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro, MK Motti Yogev (Jewish Home) requested that the Ambassador inform U.S. President Barack Obama as to who the winner of the recent Israeli elections was.

“Ever since the results of the elections became known, not a day has gone by that some criticism of Israel is not heard from the President of top American officials of Israel's chosen Prime Minister and his policies,” wrote Yogev. “Israel is the most democratic country in the Middle East, and the people have made their choice.”

That choice, he wrote, was “a national government that seeks to solve Israel's social and economic problems, along with a policy that the Land of Israel belongs to the People of Israel, and that there never was and never will be a Palestinian state.”

In his recent statements about Israel, said Yogev, President Obama has been “damaging Israel's democracy, and its head. The time has come for a re-evaluation of our relationship,” Yogev added. “'Two states for two peoples' was always a slogan but never a workable policy. Only Israeli rule from the Mediterranean to the Jordan will ensure stability and security, democracy and prosperity, to both Jews and Arabs.”
