The landmark case by terror victims against the Palestinian Authority (PA) and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) was a resounding success, Dr. Alan Bauer, one of the plaintiffs, stated to Arutz Sheva Monday.

"We were very pleased to hear the results of our lawsuit, that the court found the Palestinian Authority and the PLO guilty of the six attacks in which ten families were harmed," Bauer said. "We're extremely grateful for this outcome. We thank God for keeping us going these eleven years to get to this point; we thank our lawyers, Nitsana Darshan-Leitner and Kent Yalowitz and their offices; the judge, Judge Daniels, was fantastic."

Bauer also thanked the jury, noting that it "came to a conclusion which seasoned diplomats seem unable to fathom: that the Palestinian Authority and the PLO have been actively involved in terror attacks against civilian targets."

Bauer and his son testified in the case, he noted, after he was injured in his arm and his son suffered a head injury during a March 2002 suicide bombing.

"It was very moving," he said. "It was hard for us, because we were brought right back to those hours and days immediately after the attack."

Bauer was also thankful that the PA's lawyers did not do cross-examination, which would have been "digging in to things" and would likely have made the experience more painful, he added.

The verdict itself was delivered despite the PA's best efforts, he said - as they hired a top-notch law firm and "tried everything to get the case thrown out - witnesses, or to have material thrown out of the case."

"They did not roll over, but at the end of the day, we were very fortunate to receive good news yesterday," he said.

"We did not do it as revenge against the Palestinian Authority, but [through this] justice is done," he emphasized. "This is never the last word, as the attack stays with us for life."

"We know that the Palestinian Authority would like to appeal the decision and we will continue to fight," he concluded.
