Col. (res.) Erez Wiener, who served as aide to former IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi in the army, has joined Eli Yishai's Yachad - Ha'am Itanu to act as the party's election day headquarters director.
"Erez is a very talented man who proved his skills during the dozens of years he served in the IDF," the party released in a statement.
The party added "we are happy that a man who was called to reserve duty dozens of times throughout the year, including during the last fighting in Operation Protective Edge to conduct and manage complicated missions in the Southern Command, chose to take on himself a mission as complicated as managing the ground headquarters on election day."
Party chairman MK Eli Yishai said of the appointment "I'm proud to recruit a man who managed complicated military operations to elections day headquarters director."
Wiener himself added "I'm proud and happy to work with the Yachad party led by Eli Yishai, which is bringing a new message to the people of Israel."
