Jewish Home, the only party other than the Likud to remain in Binyamin Netanyahu's government, will take over several of the ministerial portfolios left behind by the firings and resignations of ministers from Yesh Atid and Hatnua.

Jewish Home leader Naftali Bennett and at least one other current minister from the party – most likely Housing Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) – are likely to be appointed Education Minister and Welfare Minister. The appointments would have to be approved by the cabinet at its next meeting on Sunday.

Earlier in the week, Likud minister Tzachi Hanegbi was given responsibility for the Health Ministry, and Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) took on the role of Deputy Science and Technology Minister, and will run that office until a new government is formed.

Other appointees include MK Ofir Akunis as Environment Minister.

Netanyahu himself will remain Finance Minister, but he has assigned day to day responsibility for that job to attorney Nimrod Sapir.
