Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein visited with Temple Mount rights activist Yehuda Glick in Otniel on Tuesday, wishing his friend and colleague a "speedy recovery" from wounds sustained in an attempt on his life.

"It was very emotional to see someone who took four bullets at point-blank range getting better, and almost functioning normally," Edelstein stated to Arutz Sheva after the visit.

"Despite the fact that Yehuda is determined to get better and return to public service, he promised not to run against me in the [Likud] primaries despite his popularity," he quipped. "I wished him a speedy recovery and continued success."

Yehuda Glick served as a spokesman for the Ministry of Absorption during Edelstein's tenure as Minister of Immigrant Absorption, and the two are still close friends.

Glick called Edelstein personally shortly after he regained the ability to speak.

Glick – who founded and heads the LIBA Initiative for Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount – was shot in the chest on October 29 outside the Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem.  He had been speaking, minutes before being shot, at an event for Jewish rights on the Temple Mount that had hosted leading religious figures and MKs.

Despite the ordeal, friends say that Glick has made a 'miraculous' recovery from his wounds - and not only will be full-functioning soon, but is also in relatively good spirits.

"Surprisingly, for a man who what he went through, he looks great," Amir Ohana, a close friend of Glick's now serving as his bodyguard stated to Arutz Sheva Monday.
