The Israeli Air Force carried out 12 raids on Gaza overnight after terrorists fired more rockets at southern Israel, Palestinian security sources said Wednesday. A video apparently uploaded Tuesday shows a huge blast, allegedly as a result of an IAF bomb that hit the Zeytoun area in Gaza.

The attacks struck training grounds used by terrorists, leaving two people lightly injured, they told AFP.

The Arab Ma'an news agency cited Ashraf al-Qidra, the Gaza spokesman of the Palestinian ministry of health, as saying that two Palestinian navy police officers were injured in the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza overnight. He said that the two officers were hospitalized after sustaining injuries and are in stable condition.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement around midnight that airstrikes targeted five concealed rocket launchers in northern Gaza, a terrorist center in central Gaza and a weapons manufacturing site in southern Gaza.

Direct hits were identified, the statement said, adding that the airstrikes were in retaliation for earlier rocket attacks on southern Israel.

Two rockets fired by terrorists in Gaza on Tuesday evening were shot down by the Iron Dome anti-missile defense system before they could explode in populated areas.

A third rocket exploded in a local community, but did not cause any damage.

Later, Gaza terrorists fired yet another rocket, but this one exploded within Gaza, killing a Palestinian Arab girl and wounding three other people.

“The IDF will continue to act decisively against any element which uses terror against the State of Israel,” said the IDF.

“The Hamas terrorist organization and all its branches are responsible for the rocket fire,” the statement noted.
