Former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's coffin was brought to Knesset on Sunday. The public is invited to come pay their respects.

Sharon died on Saturday afternoon at the age of 85 after being in a coma since 2006 following a stroke. He was survived by two sons, Omri and Gilad; his wife Lily, a previous wife, Margalit, and their son Gur predeceased him.

Sharon rose to the rank of General in the IDF and was a decorated war hero. As a politician, he was strongly supportive of Jewish settlement in Judea, Samaria and Gaza; however, as Prime Minister he later decided to forcibly remove Israeli communities from Gaza and northern Samaria under the controversial "Disengagement" plan.

He will be buried Monday afternoon at his family's farm following an official state ceremony in Knesset.
