Over 70 Jewish Home (Bayit Yehudi) municipal representatives met Tuesday to decide the scope of further political activities, and have decided to expand and open several new branches.

The event, entitled "Jewish Home Branches - Where Are They Headed?" was attended by party Director Nir Orbach, Deputy Education Minister Avi Wortzman, MK Ayelet Shaked, Finance Committee chairman MK Nissan Slomiansky, who hosted the discussions in the Committee; and other members of the Knesset, including Yoni Chetboun, Zevulun Kalfa, Moti Yogev and Shuli Muallem. Liora Minka, director of Emuna, was also in attendance.

Conference participants discussed the municipal election results, assessed the need for Jewish Home branches in the coming years, and goals regarding uniting the Religious Zionist world under their leadership. In addition, a think tank will be established to update Jewish Home's policies to be in line with current events.

Nir Orbach, who headed the meeting, provided a full summary of the impact of the municipal elections - which were an overwhelming success for the party. The number of representatives of the party in city councils rose from 78 to 120, including eight Druze and Bedouin representatives; two Jewish Home members were elected as mayors, compared to none before the elections; and 40 representatives gained seats in cities previously without Jewish Home representation.

"We are proud of the results of municipal elections, and are learning from places where were not so successful," he stated. "We look forward to continuing to build the party and its institutions."
