Deputy Knesset Speaker, MK Moshe Feiglin (Likud), was present on Monday morning when security forces destroyed structures in the Nahalat Yosef neighborhood of the Shomron (Samaria) Jewish community of Elon Moreh. Four families with children lived in the buildings.

Feiglin arrived on the scene in the early hours of Monday, minutes after the security forces arrived with bulldozers to destroy the buildings. Even though he lives just 20 minutes from Nahalat Yosef, the security forces were extremely prompt, and by the time he arrived, Feiglin said, the buildings were already destroyed.

The demolishing of the buildings was far more than the knocking down of some fragile structures, as fa as Feiglin is concerned. Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Feiglin said “there is a direct connection between our inability to hold onto Judea and Samaria, and our inability to defend the center of the country from the Iranian nuclear threat.”

Destroying Jewish homes in the middle of the Land of Israel only proves what the anti-Israel nations of the world say – that the Land does not really belong to the Jewish people, and is just being “occupied” by them. Beyond the timing, method, or politics of Monday's action, Feiglin said, there was an important values issue.

The pictures that are broadcast to the world indicate to the world that we do not believe that the Land is ours, and if that is the case, the ayatollahs of Iran are right about is. The loss of our legitimacy is an even greater existential threat than the Iranian bomb,” he said.
