Thousands are attending the annual Tanakh Conference of the Herzog College and Har Etzion Yeshiva, in Alon Shvut, in Gush Etzion (the Etzion Bloc). 

Tanakh is the Hebrew acronym for the books of the Bible, also known as the "Written Law", as opposed to the Talmud (the "Oral Law").

The conference lasts all week long and includes dozens of lectures, which are given simultaneously in seven classrooms from morning to late afternoon by a wide variety of academics and rabbis.

Arutz Sheva interviewed one of the the Roshei Yeshiva (Deans) of Yeshivat Har Etzion, Rabbi Moshe Lichtenstein, to hear his thoughts on the Conference:
