The Finance Ministry’s branch for insurance and savings has opened a new website with the goal of helping Israelis track down missing mention funds.

According to ministry officials’ estimates, more than 10 billion shekels in pension funds are waiting to be claimed.

The website allows users to check to see if they have any pension funds, insurance policies or similar funds that they had forgotten or of which they were unaware. They can also check to see if relatives who have passed away left unclaimed savings accounts.

Those who find unclaimed funds will be given a number to call for confirmation and details about the policy.

The site is one part of an ongoing program to increase awareness of pensions savings and to increase efficiency in the pensions savings market.
