About 300 athletes from all over Israel took part in the City of the Forefathers' race in Kiryat Arba / Hevron, which passed through Hevron's sacred and historic sites.

This is the fifth year in which the race is being held. This year, participants included a large proportion of Israelis who came from outside Hevron and Kiryat Arba, including residents of the Etzion Bloc, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Herzliya and Netanya.

Taking part in organizing the race and providing security for it were the Kiryat Arba local authority, the Israel Police and the soldiers of the IDF's Judea Regional Brigade.

The race passed through all of the major sacred, historic and newsworthy sites in the ancient Jewish city, including Peace House, the Cave of Patriarchs, Gross Square, the Avraham Avinu neighborhood, Romano House and Hagiborim Alley, where 12 men including Col. Dror Weinberg were killed in a terror ambush in 2002.
