The Jewish National Fund (JNF) launched on Monday its celebrations in honor of Tu B'Shvat, the Mishnaic New Year for Trees which has become Israel's Arbor Day.

On Tu B'Shvat, it is customary to plant trees and the JNF is running, for the fourth year in a row, a campaign called “A Tree for Every Israeli”, meant to encourage all Israelis to plant a tree in honor of Tu B'Shvat. Previous campaigns have succeeded in planting hundreds of thousands of trees throughout Israel.
