Two people were killed and two more were injured Wednesday morning after a helicopter crashed into a crane in south London.

The crash occurred shortly after 8am, during foggy weather.

Eyewitnesses claimed they saw the helicopter hit a crane on top of a building before falling to the ground and bursting into flames near the Vauxhall train station.

Several cars in the area caught fire as a result and it is has not yet known if those who were killed and injured were in the helicopter or bystanders on the ground.

According to Sky News, of the two people killed, it has been confirmed that one was traveling in the helicopter.

Businesses in the area were evacuated and all public transpiration is halted as rescue workers try to deal with the fatal crash and attempt to secure the crane which is said to be in an unsafe position following the crash.

Air investigators are expected to begin an inquiry into the crash shortly.
