An action committee composed of donors and organizers has been established in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn to assist six hareidi families who lost their homes in a large fire last Saturday evening.

By the grace of G-d, no one was hurt in the fire, but the six apartments were completely burned. Fire crew took over an hour to gain control of the blaze.

Once word of the fire had spread, Flatbush shop owners were quick to provide clothing and shoes for the families, free of charge. Food stores and restaurants sent the dazed families warm meals and dedicated organizers came up with alternative living arrangements for the families within hours.

The action committee was established to assist the families in the initial process of recovery.
