The IDF's top brass – officers from the rank of lieutenant colonel and upward – took part in a sports championship day Wednesday.
One of the highlights was a basketball game between former stars of Maccabi Tel Aviv and the IDF General Staff led by Major General Benny Gantz. The aging pros won 24:18.
Maj. Gen. Sami Turjeman, Commander of the IDF's Ground Forces said both teams were "Excellent teams that trained hard and reached good results," but added: "Our achievements in other fields are better so don't take it too seriously."
Competitions included football, volleyball, swimming, navigation, tennis and table tennis. The event kicks off the IDF's Physical Fitness and Health Month.
