A US-based airline is giving voters a way to “get away from it all” and escape the country (for a while, anyway) if their candidate loses the presidential race between incumbent Democrat Barack Obama and GOP contender Mitt Romney in November.

The low-cost JetBlue airline has announced it will give away 2012 seats – or 1,006 round-trip flights -- to a variety of destinations in the Caribbean and Mexico. (Note: The “free trip” does not include a hotel, or any taxes or fees that might apply.)

Americans whose pick for president doesn't make the grade will have an opportunity to leave the country after the November elections simply by entering a contest offered on the company's website. To participate, voters can log in to the special contest site -- dubbed "ElectionProtection" -- and pick the party of the hoped-for winning candidate.

If your party loses, you'll be entered into the drawing for a ticket to the destination of your choice, within the range of offered locations.

Founded in 1999 and based in New York, the corporation is headquartered in Long Island City in New York's borough of Queens. A non-union airline, JetBlue serves 71 destinations in 21 states and 12 countries in the Caribbean, South America and Latin America. For other international service, the company partners with a number of other firms, including Israel's national carrier, El Al Airlines.
