The Legal Forum for the Land of Israel has asked the Attorney General and Legal Advisor to the Government, Yehuda Weinstein, to launch a criminal investigation against the people who signed a petition calling on IAF pilots to refuse orders if they are told to attack Iran.

A letter from the Forum's representative, Attorney Yossi Fuchs, mentions that according to media reports, 400 people, including senior members of academia, have signed the letter.

Fuchs quotes Article 110 in the criminal code that says that "whoever incited or tried to persuade a person serving in the armed forces to disobey a legal order, shall be punished by up to one year in jail," and that "if the offense was committed at a time in which armed military attacks are being carried out by Israel or against it, his punishment is up to seven years in jail."

Since Israel is currently under recurrent attacks by terrorists who are Iran's proxies, the attorney writes, the signatories of the letter knowingly committed a serious offense that damages state security and strengthens its enemies – first and foremost, Iran.
