The wounded boy at Shimon HaTzaddik..Flash 90

Nonstop rock-throwing attacks by Arabs against Jews in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Shimon HaTzaddik led to the wounding of an eight-year-old Jewish boy Sunday afternoon. The child was treated on the spot by Magen David Adom emergency services and a complaint was filed with police.

A resident of the neighborhood told Arutz Sheva that violence escalated over the past month – apparently because of Ramadan. Earlier in the month, Arutz Sheva reported that Arabs in Shimon HaTzaddik have been sending their children to throw rocks at Jews.

Three weeks ago, a security camera recorded an Arab boy throwing a rock at a motorcycle owned by a local Jewish man and damaging it. The cameras also showed a group of Arabs breaking their Ramadan fast for that day and then attacking a Jewish passerby verbally and physically.

Jewish residents claim that the police fail to deal properly with Arab aggression because of pressure applied by the radical Left “both above ground and behind the scenes,” in their words. The police fear a confrontation with the extreme Left and are therefore unable to assist the Jewish residents.
