Rock-throwing leftists wounded a Jewish man in the head while he was praying in the Simon the Just (Shimon HaTzadik) neighborhood in Jerusalem on the last day of Passover on Monday, one day after the IDF captured a rock-throwing terrorist cell near Shechem.

The wounded man was treated on the scene. Police have arrested nearly 100 pro-Arab demonstrators, to whom the High Court had given permission to demonstrate. Most of them have since been released.

National Union Knesset Member Dr. Michael Ben-Ari criticized what he called excessive leniency by police. “The time has come to issue orders banning the anarchists and radical leftists who incite others to violence,” he said.

Sunday afternoon, the IDF captured the rock-throwing terrorist cell that critically wounded a Jewish resident who was traveling near Shechem. The same cell is responsible for other rock attacks and the attempted lynch of youths who managed to escape during a recent attempt on their lives. The terrorists often throw cinder blocks in addition to rocks.

The Samaria (Shomron) Battalion is deploying additional forces in an effort to stop additional attacks, which are aimed at causing fatal accidents or wounding travellers. Samaria Council regional chairman Gershon Mesika praised the army for arresting the terrorists, adding that the army’s success “proves again that the IDF can win the war against terror when the political establishment allows it to act without its hands tied behind its back.”

Shmuel Cohen, the Yitzhar resident who was critically wounded last Thursday by a rock, has undergone an operation, and his life is not considered in danger anymore.
