The two police officers, who were in a patrol vehicle, hung on as the car was flipped over twice by the tractor terrorist, who then attempted to ram into a bus, but missed. He succeeded in hitting two other vehicles.

The bus was carrying a group of girls who had dressed up as 'medical clowns' to a children's ward in a hospital where they were to entertain the sick children.

Despite their injuries, the police and an armed cab driver fired at the terrorist, mortally wounding him. The would-be murderer died of his wounds shortly afterwards at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in the capital.
