Originally from Petersburg, Virginia, Ben Packer moved to Israel in 1999, where he served in the IDF's Givati Brigade in the Gaza Strip. Ben served as a Rabbi on campus at Univ. of North Carolina and at Duke Univ. Ben now serves as Director of the Jerusalem Heritage House ( and Co-Director of Young Jewish Conservatives ( He lives in the Old City of Jerusalem with his wife and 6 children....

I, like everyone else with at least a semi-functional brain, was not at all surprised by the arab attack on the Jewish prayer area and prayer books near Karmei Tzur on this past Shabbat (see here). The site is dedicated in memory of the 3 boys kidnapped, murdered and subsequently temporarily buried near the site.

It should come as no surprise at all that those who seek to erase the Jewish People from our Land also seek to erase our memorials to those killed in order that we can live and strengthen our presence here. And what is the Prime Minister's pathetic response (on facebook):

"We will prosecute the perpetrators of this crime. I expect the international community to condemn the desecration of a synagogue, an act that is the result of incessant Palestinian incitement."

I certainly hope he is joking, at least about the international community part. Of course we should punish the perpetrators - that's not impressing anyone. What would "impress" those responsible and their supporters? Prime Minister Netanyahu out there in the rain laying the cornerstone for a beautiful new PERMANENT structure in memory of the 3 boys!

"What matters is not what the goyim say, but what the Jews do." (David Ben-Gurion)

G-d willing, we will start doing what we are supposed to be doing! And if Bibi and Bennett can't lead, they should get out of the way! (Moshe Yaalon clearly has no intention of leading, except when it comes to immoral evictions and kidnappings (a more accurate description of "administrative detention" )
