Originally from Petersburg, Virginia, Ben Packer moved to Israel in 1999, where he served in the IDF's Givati Brigade in the Gaza Strip. Ben served as a Rabbi on campus at Univ. of North Carolina and at Duke Univ. Ben now serves as Director of the Jerusalem Heritage House (www.heritagehouse.org.il) and Co-Director of Young Jewish Conservatives (www.youngjewishconservatives.org). He lives in the Old City of Jerusalem with his wife and 6 children....

Now that we know the lists of candidates of the parties participating in the upcoming Israeli elections, THERE ARE NO MORE EXCUSES! EVERYONE MUST VOTE!

Although the right-wing may appear fragmented, this is totally irrelevant. What is important is that all viewpoints on the "right-side" are now represented. This is not an election between Bibi and Herzog, this is an election between right and left. The greatest threat to the forming of a right-wing government was from ourselves! Now there is no fear of not passing the threshold (except for Lieberman, hehe) and no one can complain that this party is too right and this party is not right enough - from Bibi to Baruch Marzel and everything in-between, everyone is included! And therefore, everyone must vote! (Of course there are certain groups that are opposed to voting in principle and that is a completely different matter. However, if someone does not fit in to that category, there are no excuses!)

There should be much joy in the hearts of those faithful to the Land of Israel. Now it is up to all of us to strongly encourage our fellow Jews to vote! Whether its for Marzel/Yishai or for Bennett or even for Likud - they must vote, otherwise they strengthen those who wish and act to disengage us from our Land. We have the ability now, through this solid right-wing front, to prevent this wicked effort to tear us from Eretz Yisroel and Toras Yisroel and instead to take things in a totally different direction - the RIGHT direction! With G-d's help, we will be successful!

Shabbat Shalom,
