Hope all the Jews had a meaningful Yom Kippur and everyone else had a lovely Tuesday night/Wednesday. I know the main thing most folks in Israel and many places in the Diaspora were thinking about over this Yom Kippur - Ari Fuld, hy'd.

Ari Fuld, hy'd.
As I'm sure most of you are aware, my friend and Jewish hero, Ari Fuld, was murdered by an arab terrorist this week. He was outside of the local grocery store in Gush Etzion when he was stabbed in the back. He then chased the terrorist and opened fire and wounded him before finally collapsing. He saved at least one life by chasing the terrorist and probably others as well. There is a video of the entire incident that can easily be accessed online. Highly recommend it. Not because its graphic, but because it shows everything that Ari was about - fighting ferociously til the end. As horrifically sad as his death is, it will inspire many future Jewish victories. I could go on and on. Role Model. Hero. Warrior.

Syria Downs Russian Airplane, Blames Israel
This week Israel attacked Syria repeatedly - actually Iranian targets in Syria. One such attack led to Syria activating anti-aircraft fire that mistakenly shot down a Russian intelligence plane, killing all on board. Well.....I'm not saying we should laugh, but Israel has warned Russia repeatedly about the risks of being over there. I'm sure Putin respects us for it. Anyway, no chance Israel is backing down on this, so as long as iran persists in trying to transfer or develop weapons in Syria, this kind of thing is going to keep happening.

Attempted Terrorist Attack outside of the Old City on Yom Kippur
Right as Yom Kippur was starting, an arab attacked a Jewish man on the way to pray at the Western Wall and tried to stab him. The Jewish man was able to break free without suffering injury. The terrorist proceeded to attack responding border policemen who we able to shoot and kill him. Neither this attack (on Yom Kippur!) nor Ari Fuld's (an American citizen) killing were mentioned in mainstream US media. They make themselves more irrelevant everyday.

The Train!
Today the new train from Jerusalem to Ben Gurion Airport was successfully tested. It will start running soon. Eventually it will go to tel aviv in about half an hour. Its hard to know the exact impact this will have on the country, but whatever it is, it promises to be dramatic.

Jerusalem Mayoral Election.
Balagan!!! Its a mess! Tons of crazy reports coming out tonight. Nothing is even official yet. I'm going to hold off and wait til things are more concrete because everything we said before is now out the window! Just when you thought you know what you're talking about.....

Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach!
