Ramadan is almost over - thanks be to Allah. A whole month of not being able to get anything fixed in this country - as I write without internet service.

But some folks are still working this month - the kite fire starters. As you've probably read and seen (online videos are pretty powerful), arabs in gaza have been flying hundreds of kites with ignited flammable material into Israel. Many of these kites have started fires all around the border area, including inside Sderot. Many trees and plant life have been burned, animals killed and fields blackened. The arabs have always been such die-hard environmentalists. Actually the leftists really do care about the environment, they just hate Jews more. So they are quiet.

While Israel has been able to prevent many of these attacks through various means, they continue nonetheless.

Possible solutions:

-shoot the people sending the kites

-shoot the people sending the people who send the kites, ie. the heads of Hamas

-both (preferred solution)

BDS Win: argentina vs. Israel soccer match in Jerusalem cancelled

Last night it was announced that the upcoming scheduled argentina vs. Israel soccer match had been cancelled. The reason given was threats to the argentinian players (especially Messi) and to argentinian soccer in general, like their bid for a future hosting of the World Cup. I think all Israel supporters will agree that this is a victory for BDS, however:

-it involved overt threats of violence (doesn't look great, even to most leftists)

-argentina is a joke of a country

-we aren't losing any real money on this

-reminder: argentina is a joke of a country

In all seriousness, we should probably punish argentina in some way. Maybe something involving the Falkland Islands, they're still all butthurt about that one.

The palestinian authority was also heavily involved with these potentially violent shenanigans. In addition to so many other reasons, they should all be punished severely for this. Won't happen, Israel too afraid of Hamas taking over the "West Bank".

Since the soccer game was supposed to be in Jerusalem, let's segway/segue to there. There were no announcements about Jewish building in Jerusalem this week. However, the pressure is definitely building. Netanyahu/Barkat won't be able to push it off forever. Probably after ramadan.

The upcoming Jerusalem mayoral election is somewhat heating up. The Haredim/ultra-orthodox still haven't decided who they are supporting or if they are running their own candidate. Its June and the election is in November, so can't wait forever. In the meantime, more folks are jumping in the ring. This should push the Haredim to run their own candidate as he will be pretty much guaranteed to win. That's if they can all unite around one candidate. But it is a land of miracles...

Rhodes/Obama book:

It appears that Ben Rhodes, former obama servant, has written a book dedicated to how much he hates Prime Minister Netanyahu. This must be a comedy. Supposedly the book goes on and on about how every time obama wanted to do something to mess over Israel, Bibi would find a way to stop him. He must have cried the whole time he was writing it.

I guess we can just add Rhodes to the list of others, like uncle tom friedman and michael shankbone chabon, who for some reason think they matter. Its really the best of joke of all their similar comedy routines. I could laugh about their irrelevance for years, especially the more they whine about it.
