Only 55 years after its rebirth, the life of the Jewish State of Israel is in mortal danger, whether by murder, or by assisted suicide.

There is no dearth of volunteers to be the executioners of the Jewish State. The Arab Muslims consider Israel a cancer in their midst that must be uprooted, either by war - as in 1948, 1967, or 1973 - or by continual terrorism.

In the forefront of the campaign to eliminate the Jewish State are the radical Islamic dictatorships, such as Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Libya, who themselves are recent creations of the European colonial powers.

Now for a bit of history:

The Ottoman Empire lasted for a little more than 600 years. Following the breakup of this powerful Empire during World War I, the following countries, among others, were established by colonial powers such as Britain and France.

Iraq was created by then-English colonial secretary, Winston Churchill, and became an independent kingdom on October 3, 1932.

Saudi Arabia gained its independence on September 23, 1932.

Syria was administered by the French until it was granted independence on April 17, 1946.

Libya got its independence from Italy on December 24, 1951.

In their desire to get rid of the ?cancer? in their midst, Israel, these newly created states are trying to act as midwives at the birth of a fictional country, ?Palestine? inhabited by a fictional people, the ?Palestinians?.

How do the Arabs get away with these incredible fabrications and lies? They have a most powerful weapon. That weapon is called oil. The whole world has an insatiable need for it and the Arabs sit on vast quantities of this black gold.

There is an American saying ?The squeaky wheel gets greased,? and a billion Muslims are one giant squeaky wheel. Their giant propaganda machine controls much of the world?s media; this propaganda machine has convinced most of the world, certainly the European countries, that the ?poor? Palestinians have had their homeland stolen and occupied by those ?nasty? Jews. Never mind that very few of the Arabs who now live in the area of what is now Israel, have lived there not even 100 years. Most of these Arabs left surrounding Arab countries to find work and better their living conditions, after the Jews started to rebuild their country.

Oil became the controlling factor in the diplomacy of all the industrial nations, including, unfortunately, what has often been called ?Israel?s one and only friend?, the United States.

It seemed in the beginning, in the wars of 1948, 1967 and 1973, that Israel was able to overcome insurmountable odds. There was a time when Israel had belief in the rightness of its cause. Granted, the Arabs hated Israel as much then as they do now, but the Jewish People believed fervently in the miracle of the rebirth of the Jewish State. Why not now?

The simple answer is that Israel is now attacked by enemies from within. The Trojan Horse has been let inside our gates by the post-Zionists, who now collaborate with the Muslim Arabs in order to decimate the Jewish Homeland.

Some disastrous examples:

1. The Ayalon - Nusseibeh understandings. Ami Ayalon is a former Shabak (Israel?s Secret Service) head who has put forth, together with Palestinian Sari Nusseibeh, a diplomatic initiative to give Yasser Arafat large parts of our Homeland.

2. A small group of Israel air force pilots who advocate refusal to bomb terror targets.

3. Four former Shabak heads, Avraham Shalom, Ya?acov Peri, Carmi Gillon, and Ami Ayalon, who are willing to call for another Altalena-style affair in order to expel the Jews from Judea, Samaria and Gaza, our Biblical heartland. And all this in the name of Israel remaining a ?democracy?!

4. Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Ehud Olmert has caved in to the European Union, and acceded to their request to label products made in Israel with their city of manufacture. The European Union can now refuse to grant customs benefits to Israeli products manufactured in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.

The fact is that the EU has political problems with policies of the Israeli Government, which they?re trying to translate into economic sanctions. It is their right to try to forge this link. But why have we, a sovereign state, agreed to differentiate between one Israeli export and another, in order to accommodate the political prejudices of another country or group of countries?

Minister Olmert?s excuse is as follows: ?It?s not so bad, it only affects 1% of our exports.? His intent clearly is that the effect on Israel?s exports will be minimal. The effect on the producers in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, however, will be very dramatic. They will lose their livelihood.

Prime Minister Sharon justified Trade Minister Olmert?s decision to mark Israeli products with their city of origin, in order to save the rest of Israel?s exports. Shades of the Judenrat: Sacrifice some Jews, in order to try to save the rest of the community. Of course, this did not work during the Holocaust, and it won't work now.

5. The ultimate betrayal is Yossi Beilin?s Geneva Sellout.

On Monday, December 1, 2003, a ?peace agreement? was signed by Israelis and Palestinians. The signing itself was greeted with much hoopla. Hundreds of journalists, rock stars, Hollywood actors and politicians were flown to Switzerland from all around the world, on a plane chartered by the ?neutral? Swiss government. Even former U.S. President Jimmy Carter had a free seat on that plane.

Very weird situation. The agreement was signed, not by Israeli and Palestinian officials, but by two individuals with absolutely no power. On the Palestinian side, it was signed by former Information Minister Yasser Abed Rabbo. On the Israeli side, it was signed by Yossi Beilin, a man whose political standing in his own country is so low that he failed to make it into parliament. After helping to bring his Labor party to ruin, Beilin abandoned it for the far-left Meretz party, which then did so badly in the last election, that Beilin is now a private citizen. There is a reason why he is one of Israel?s most reviled and discredited politicians. He was the principle ideologue and architect behind the ?peace? fostered on Israel in 1993. Those Oslo agreements have led to a decade of the worst terror in all Israeli history.

And what does this treasonous document entail? A Palestinian State. Evacuating every Jewish ?settlement?. Re-dividing Jerusalem. Giving up the Temple Mount, the subject of Jewish longing in poetry and prayer for the last 2,000 years. Jews will only be allowed to visit the Temple Mount with Arab permission, but they (and the Christians) will not be allowed to pray there. Beilin intends to return Israel to its 1967 borders with no security safeguards. In addition, third parties (like hostile Syria) will determine how many of the so-called Arab refugees will be able to flood Israel.

Let me digress and tell you how this Geneva Accord will affect me personally. Three of my children and their spouses, and eleven of my grandchildren, will be expelled from their homes in Efrat, a beautiful community twenty minutes away from Jerusalem by car. With a stroke of his pen, Beilin has made a present to Arafat of this vibrant Jewish town with 7,622 inhabitants. However, I don't know when this count was taken. I am therefore not sure if this includes my 6-month-old granddaughter Nava, and my 4-weeks-old grandson Ivri.

Inexplicably, Beilin has also handed over to the Arabs the Mount of Olives cemetery, the oldest Jewish cemetery in the world. It dates from the First Temple Period, more than 2,000 years ago.

My parents, may they rest in peace, are buried in this cemetery, according to their wish before their death. Will my family, our children and grandchildren, require a visa to visit their graves? Might their graves be vandalized, G-d forbid, as Jewish graves were vandalized between 1948 and 1967, during the occupation of the ?moderate? King Hussein of Jordan?

Also, inexplicably, Beilin proposes to give Arafat free access to a cemetery in the Middle of Jerusalem, on Emek Refaim Street, where only Christians are buried. Almost diagonally across the street is Cafe Hillel, where seven people were killed on September 9, amongst them Dr. Applebaum and his daughter Nava, who was to be married the next day. Is Beilin ensuring free access for Arab murderers?

Who is to blame for this anarchy and chaos? Unquestionably, the Government of Ariel Sharon. He cannot continue mumbling inanities and ignoring all these independent ?initiatives.? A supposedly warm personal relationship between President George W. Bush and Sharon does not warrant a neglect of Congress and American public opinion.

The absence of a more concerted campaign to promote our position in the U.S. contributed to the recent public chastisement of our policies by the administration and the deduction of $300 million from our loan guarantees - to which our government barely responded.

Sharon must realize that if he continues on his present path, Bush will simply drift into making more anti-Israeli gestures to mollify the Europeans.

And now as for ?Israel?s one and only friend?, the United States: Secretary of State Colin Powell has written a letter to Beilin and Abed Rabbo, expressing appreciation for their effort, and met with them on Friday. United States Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz also requested a meeting. Thus, Beilin and Abed Rabbo are holding talks with Powell, Wolfowitz, and other senior administration officials. In embracing the Geneva Accord, these senior U.S. administration officials are undermining not only Bush?s demand that Arafat be held accountable for the terrorism he has inspired and directed, but also the most precious ideal with which America has approached the Middle Eastern fray since 9/11: Democracy.

The Israeli authors of the Geneva Accords all failed to get elected to the posts they sought: Beilin failed in his bid for a Knesset seat; Amram Mitzna was handed by Ariel Sharon the worst-ever electoral defeat in Israeli history; and Avraham Burg lost the primary election for Labor?s leadership.

What credibility will America?s demands for democratization in this region have once its own secretary of state publicly celebrates the anti-democratic actions of a group of Israelis who were, each in his turn, rejected by the voters?

This is a scandalous action on the part of United States officials. Israel is a democracy, and this agreement was negotiated in defiance of the democratically (and overwhelmingly) elected government of Israel.

The Geneva Accord, according to columnist Charles Krauthammer, is not a peace treaty -- it is a suicide note -- by a private citizen on behalf of a country that has utterly rejected him politically. That this initiative should get any encouragement from the United States, is an utter disgrace.

Dear friends: Chanukah and Christmas are both very near. In fact, this year they coincide. No doubt your young children and grandchildren are expecting wonderful toy presents from you. This is what Palestinian children are getting as presents for their big holiday, Id-al-Fitr: a doll in the form of arch-terrorist Osama Bin Laden rejoicing over the destruction of the Pentagon, and the burning Twin Towers. (A picture of these toys can be seen on our website www.womeningreen.org). These toys are an absolute craze in Gaza, Ramallah, Hebron and Nablus. Does the U.S. really want to give these Islamic radicals a terrorist state carved out of the Holy Land?

I want to remind my Jewish friends that they are celebrating Chanukah because the Maccabees in the year 167 B.C.E. fought to cleanse and rededicate the Holy Temple to Hashem, and to liberate Judea and Samaria, the Biblical Heartland, from foreign oppression.

In addition, I want to remind my Christian friends that the Jewish prophets Elisha, Jeremiah and Amos were ?products? of either Judea or Samaria. Also, Jesus was a Jew born in the city of Bethlehem, in Judea.

Dear friends: It would be most effective if you forwarded this article to all of your friends, and to President George W. Bush, Vice President Cheney, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Colin Powell, your Senators, and your Congressmen. Their email addresses are found on the White House website.
