Kneeling for Hatikva: What if Jews kneeled during Islamic speeches?

Michelle Anderson

President Brooklyn College,

Dear President Anderson,

I supported the right for NFL players to kneel at their games to protest racism in America so it wouldn’t be ethical for me to criticize Brooklyn College for approving of its volley ball players kneeling at the playing of Israel’s national anthem.

But I do have one question for you and that is, would you support Jewish students kneeling during Islamic speeches at meetings and games?
If kneeling is the preferred mode of protest, it is much better than pro-Palestinian students intimidating Jewish students and shouting down pro-Israel speakers as they do at many American campuses.

But I do have one question for you and that is, would you support Jewish students kneeling during Islamic speeches at meetings and games?

If the answer is yes, then I hope that Brooklyn College’s Jewish students put you to the test by kneeling during your annual Israel apartheid week

Hopefully your approval would be accompanied by security guards deployed to protect Jewish kids from being physically assaulted by their Arab counterparts.

Speaking of Brooklyn College celebrating an Israel apartheid week during which Israel is accused of apartheid when anyone who is the least bit conversant with South African apartheid knows that there is nothing remotely like this in Israel, has it ever occurred you that promoting a hate Israel week is the reason why your volley ball players are kneeling, and others have learned to hate Israel and Jews.

Are you proud of this made-in-Brooklyn College racism?

Respectfully yours,

Lawrence C. Shapiro
