Eretz Yisrael Yomi is a new Torah site that was put on the web just in time for the new cycle of Torah readings. It features the Dvar Torahs of promising young scholars in the Religious Zionist yeshiva world.

The emphasis of each d'var Torah is to illustrate:

  • The uniqueness of Eretz Yisrael.
  • The special connection of Am Yisrael to Eretz Yisrael
  • The love of Am Yisrael for Eretz Yisrael
  • The Zechut (privilege) of living in Eretz Yisrael
  • The responsibility of living in Eretz Yisrael

The Writers

The writers of the divrei Torah are current/past avreichim (kollel members) and talmidim (students) of Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav. Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav is recognized as a Torah institution that connects Torat Eretz Yisrael in accordance with Torah sources, Chazal, and the teachings of Rav Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook za"tsal and his son, Rav Tzvi Yehuda HaCohen Kook, za"tsal .

There is an English as well as a Hebrew website.

In this Torah talk, a parable found in the philosophical Kuzari by Rabbi Yehuda Halevi answers the question of why the Torah does not simply start with commandments.

Why does it start with creation? What is Hashem telling the world?

(The idea for the site and its construction is the initiative of Chaim Moshe Tessler of Jerusalem)
